Right before the boss is about to die, your buddy's going to hop in and take the kill(ksing noob). I could be wrong but mine did, I don't feel like beating it again just to find out. I also think your weapon resets right before you face him. This doesn't really have any major effect. At the same time, you're constantly being pulled towards him. This floating black thing with eye's shoots, summons enemies, and zooms around the screen. When being surrounded by a bunch of guys at once, I started smashing the keys trying to shoot with the arrows and move with the other keys, at least I'm not the angry German boy =P. You use the arrows to move up, down, left and right. The only aspect I found difficult were the controls. Some enemies will shoot at you, others you'll have to avoid colliding with them. Through the game, enemies will flank you coming onto the screen in lines or swarms at a time. Near the end of the game, you'll use 20 of your collected gems to purchase a new spaceship, that is of coarse IF you've collected at least 20. After every level a shop will fly through tailing upgrades for your weapon, extra lives and health buy with your coins. Enemies will also drop coins, destroying asteroids will reveal gems. There are multiple weapon and spaceship upgrades.

You play as these two pixel characters soaring through space shooting down enemy spaceships while avoiding asteroids. Since I’m a strong supporter of trump cards I guess we’d need a basic unit type that excels at tackling blunt units, so how about a “shortswordsman” with a shield or a “shortsword and daggerman” with no shield: perhaps we could include him as the fifth basic unit type, one with low damage, short range, rapid attack and gets a bonus vs blunt unit types (macemen, axemen, flailers, ect) but is vulnerable to long handled weapons: (spear, halberd, ect.Gamma Bros is such a fun game. This would give us another unit to include in the rock-paper-scissors gambit, one that would make good sense when set up against heavily armored units: 2handedswordsmen, kingsguard, ect. Since the flailer is already a unique unit, maybe a new “maceman” could be included with the 3 main types of standard units: archer, sword, spear, mace. Historically speaking, the one unit that should have a good chance against extremely heavily armored units, one far more ancient than the rapier swordsmen, crossbowman, or musketeer – is a blunt unit type. It reminds me of Desktop Armada only where armada is lame, with no real sense of accomplishment in the world and always making you focus on saving up money – Warlords is exciting, giving the player a feeling of world conquest, while on the battlefield freeing the player up to focus on tactics while actually getting to watch the fight! I believe this would engage the player more actively than the current game settings which unfortunately amount to simply putting the unit selection marker on our one upgraded unit and leaving it there.īy the way, I think your game is excellent and has tremendous potential. Like with the halbredier vs horsemen, only expand it to include more subsets so the player is not necessarily forced to, but would be much more inclined to react to which types of units the opponent is throwing down. Make it so nearly every base unit type is always trumped by at least one unit type and have each unit type nearly always trump one single other type of unit, despite upgrades. Well if you want recommendations that aren’t simply whining, and won’t result in guaranteed ways of winning using single unit spam, then consider this change: Make Warlords more of rock paper scissors kind of game. DJStatika himself reads this forum, I’m shocked.
